namKannada!

“Kannada ene kunidaaduvudennede, kannada ene kivi nimiruvudu..”lines written by kuvempu on the ‘vishwa lipigala rani’(QUEEN OF WORLD SCRIPTS-vinoba bhave) is just apt as the third oldest language of World,as old as 2000 years is resident and alive in her full glory, which has the distinction of being 99.99% perfect -logically and scientifically, having a script of its own, which made a foreigner Kittel to learn, understand, appreciate and initiate the urge to make his contribution through a ‘shabda kosha’(dictionary),which no other Indian language can boast!
When " Kaviraja Maarga was written . . ." kaaveriyinda , godaavarivaregirpa ... " by Amogha Varsha Nripathunga, English was incradle & Hindi was not born at all.Till date seven kannadigas have won jnaanapeetha awards and number of literature awards KUVEMPU has got,is highest among any Indian authors.Ragale Saahithya can be seen only in kannada which is of a rare and different kind of literature.Chandassu (shatpadis) out pared all other languages.
Vachana, keerthane, devaranama, champu, grammar, poetry, prosody,ragale,tripadi,sangatya,shatpadi..the list goes on of the ways kannada has been explored and enriched by generations of story tellers, grammarians, poets, dramatists, novelists and what not but of all who breath and live kannada..

namma bengaluru

My take on Bangalore v/s other metros:
Bombay in a way sounds too colonial,so they changed it to Mumbai and started calling themselves mumbaikaars, well as far as I know its been years since amchi Mumbai took birth. It has got a distinct flavour of meetha and the raw tadka.
From slumdog to Mumbai meri jaan,Mumbai has been everywhere almost everywhere. Delhi-6 can by all means called as a pure passionate journey recorded with that composite subtleness in each and every frame by rakeysh omprakash mehra,I don’t like calling it a tribute. The celebrated havelis or rosgullas or guru dutt sahab or the prince have made howdah To be heard in the far south and east.It is not like the only land mass with so many stars but stars have made that land mass to be heard,to be known by us!It took years for us to realize that it is indeed namma bengaluru from,Bangalore, well I wonder how far v the youngistan of bengaluru think of it as namma cool ooru! All across the globe veterans say but one thing metamorhosis of ‘the city’ that has been theirs since years.Every Monday in Deccan Herald a column appears on the colonial style houses in Bangalore. Honestly speaking its in a way tribute to the good old days of Bangalore(Bangalore or Bengaluru but it should be namma ooru).Residents of those places speak about the beautiful weather which used to exist, the no such hustle bustle of vehicles as of now or the mushroom like malls,in true sense the flavour of Bangalore.we are losing our most celebrated m.g.road in the name of development!well I don’t know if there is someone who does not miss m.g.road.Bombay became Mumbai but the amchi feel! Has absolutely not disappeared as in bengaluru.
My brother belongs to the techie crowd in Bangalore.A person from Kerala but born in Karnataka,he has not made a single attempt to learn kannada!no none of my northi classmates have given a try?westerners love the culture of east, has anyone compelled them to do so,no it’s the respect that has made them appreciate. That respect arises from the fact that its deep rooted in us,which is so pure and strong that its power makes anyone to bow down so is in the case of namma bengaluru, our samskruthi and namma kannada.we got the classical status but we have not yet achieved it .Films or books on namma Bengaluru will then come into picture lets first become in true sense Bengaloorigaru, then after we are in no means behind in the race of metros.

childhood

childhood a fairytale kind of life for some of us and rags, blanket of night sky for some!!
chubby cheeks saw the twinkling of stars when humpty dumpty were sitting on the wall and jack jill went to fetch water, all the 2 n 3 candles blowing party got over and dats our childhood, our childhood!!
for my parents r for many of our parents subhadra kumari chauhans 'mere bachpan' or bannada tagadina tutturi brings dem d lively days of mara koti aata, aluguli mane, their first stint with colour photo, the excitement of jaatre, tent cinema and the long struggle of stealing of naalku aane from appajis jubba..moole angadi peppermint and the royal treatment of maylaari masala dosa..utter dissapoinment when rains washed their dream castles and forgetting them in a minute or two and making paper boats and seeing their vessel sailing in the small streams and their jubiliant faces..alas!all memories, sweet remembrances..
the site of thorana and smell of obbattu and the very positive energy around with new clothes and lakshmi pataki and bhoo chakra and the grandest of all festivals, deepawali was a cynosure for those li'l eyes.visiting everyhouse in d colony including murthy mama, shantakka, kamala chikkamma for the sake of kadubu during ganesha chaturthi and those li'l devilish acts were where life used to live for a while before fading away gradually..
the fondest of all memories is d 'raja maja' with ajja, ajji with a icing on the cake as ajja announces the grand arrival of the king of all fruits 'maavu' for dinner..
the gud old days, everyone say dat!
i dont think so dat any1 of us had a chance of dating any of dose grannys bed timefairies and queens..the nuclear family and the blame game starts!!if at all wehad gone for a date would'nt minnie and daisy feel bad..
zindagi main thodi life dats what childhood d pyaara bachpan and sundara baalya means!!
